It is a tradition with me to take my father out for BBQ on his birthday. This year we went to a restaurant in Langley called Ozark's the interior was nice, but the question was if the brisket was good. Dad ordered beef ribs and I the brisket sandwich. When the food came the first thing I noticed about the sandwich was that they had shredded the brisket this was a disappointment for me part of the joy of brisket is the way that it melts in your mouth if it is cooked right. The flavour lacked for me as well somehow missing it's smokey aroma. again disappointed.
Now The beef ribs were a totally different story they were big and meaty an order of three on the plate plus the fixings. The flavour thick with smoke and the meat was perfectly tender, everything was sauced nicely as well. I sat at the table wishing that I had ordered the same thing.
I think that at the end of the day Ozark's is a worthwhile place to take in the taste of southern style BBQ, but maybe keep it to stuff that is bone in.
